I just a a birthday yesterday. It’s interesting how these don’t really matter for one self any more. Yes, these can be great for family reunions and getting remote contacts, but its not the same the older I get.
So, what did I do on my birthday? I upgraded to Debian 13 on the NAS Server and installed RaspiOS (based on Debian 13) on the headless Raspberry Pi 4s. Actually, every update to the Raspberry Pis to a new OS, there were many changes. Thus, I took the next day to rebuild them with the media files. Not a big deal, but just easier that trying to update from Debian 12 to Debian 13…
Trying to update instead of upgrading from scratch, is not that simple as there are many gotchas where the final solution is to rebuild these little inexpensive boxes from scratch anyway.
That’s about it for now.

Testing the Random Quotes Plug-in.
2035-10-13_Update; I installed a quotes.txt file of nearly 50K quotes over the years. I’ll see if it has a performance impact.

Computers
I have four (4) of them:
- A Dell small laptop running exclusively Linux Mint as my main driver.
- A 2021 McBookPro, my work horse, with a Read/Write ext4 file system.
- A stand alone Intel 5 server, about 8 to 10 years old running Debian 12 as my NAS.
- A couple of Raspberry PI4 used as my video servers.
- And as small devices, an iPhone 12, a basic 4 years old iPad nad a couple of Apple TVs.
And that keeps me busy enough in keeping them updated.
